04:52 PM ET 12.03 | Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen confirmed in his post-game presser that WR Denarius Moore was benched in the Browns game for dropped balls: "Dropped a couple balls, and we got to make plays when you've got opportunities...It wasn't from a lack of effort, but we've got to make plays when we've got an opportunity." Rookie Rod Streater took Moore's place and responded well, with three catches for 96 yards and a TD.

You can't bench 40 players.

Moore's been productive the vast majority of this season. Very productive, actually.
He doesn't have a history of drops, and they happen to everyone on occasion. Calvin Johnson actually has more drops this year than Denarius Moore.

It's a much bigger problem with the Raider passing-offense is how poor a downfield thrower Palmer is now.
Allen and Knapp keep insisting on this vertical-heavy passing-offense that's supposed to be coupled with a strong run-game to make it work.
Problem is, McFadden has been terrible with Knapp's new blocking scheme (whereas he was a beast with Hue Jackson's), and Palmer has an old-man arm now that can't make accurate deep-throws anymore.
The result is that even when Moore and Heyward-Bey's hands are like glue on a given Sunday, they're still only catching like 40% of their targets because Palmer's dubious arm is making already low-percentage throws even more low-percentage, and to make matters worse, they're not even able to exploit play-action as intended because the run-game is terrible now.
There's a mess of problems with the Raiders offense. Benching Moore for two drops is basically just the move of an increasingly panicked coaching staff unwilling to acknowledge the real problems they've created for themselves.

That's the whole problem. When Palmer does throw you a catchable ball, don't squander it.

Agreed offensive strategy sucks, you either need to make your strategy fit your personnel or find personnel to fit your strategy. A good head coach should be able to do both over time.

They do, but Allen is in his first year, they should give him another year or two to figure out what works (and who works).
