Tanguay snaps at reporters
Alex Tanguay has had enough. So has Darryl Sutter. After days of patiently responding to questions concerning renewed speculation he's being shopped around, the Flames winger finally snapped yesterday. "What?" asked a disgusted Tanguay when a reporter asked if he hoped to be back with the Flames following the all-star break. "That's a stupid question. I'm not going to answer that."

What else is a player supposed to say when asked about his hopes of being traded/staying with a team? "I'm really looking forward to getting out of here."? or "Nah, I won't play for any other team."? Give me a break. Reporters need to stop asking these kinds of questions if they don't want players to snap at them (but, of course they DO want to snapped on, because then its a much more interesting story). The league should get involved and have a bit more control over what kind of questions are out of line to ask players directly. This guy just wants to go out and play the game - if he gets traded, its out of his hands. Getting traded is a stressful time for players - a guy like Tanguay, in the middle of a playoff race in what might be the toughest division in hockey, doesn't need the extra stress of idiot reporters asking him questions about situations he has no control over

who are they going to trade for Sundin, gm? You think the Leafs are going to settle for a 4th line player for him? I think not...

goCanada!, You want the league to got involved to control what? Asking a player about his future? Thats out of line? I think Tanguay's a big enough boy to handle such a grilling. If he's annoyed and snaps at a question he's asked he doesn't like, too bad! He's well compensated for the inconvenience.

questions like this should be allowed, and subsequent reactions should be allowed... he gets compensated well and so should be available to be grilled... just as the news papers are compensated well for running the stories so he shouldn't feel bad responding as he did

The NHL or NHLPA monitoring what questions should or should not be asked to the players, would be pretty close to censorship in my book , and no one benefits from that...
Lets keep on asking the stupid questions, bring on the stupid answers, and let us all re-joy at our ability to choose, to read or watch something else if we find too stupid...
As for Alex is life could be much worst...
