Trading Joe Webb for Matt Flynn may make sense

02:06 AM ET 12.04 | We've harped on Christian Ponder enough that the time has come to turn the page on other possibilities. If you're still supporting him at this point then you're in the minority. And I know there are those that argue for a better supporting cast, however there comes a time in football where it's up to the quarterback to be the best player on the field and win the game for his team. We haven't seen anything even close to that out of Ponder to know that he's the guy for the foreseeable future. Most Vikings fans wouldn't have a problem with Ponder being back in 2013 on the roster, however the crying tone now is that this team has such a special talent in Adrian Peterson who deserves another shot at a ring with Ponder not being the answer at quarterback. They'd yelp out that it'd be irresponsible to enter next season with Ponder, Joe Webb and McLeod Bethel-Thompson at the game's most important position.

If you click on The Viking Age the whole story not just the Readers Digest version will appear

They still could have slipped Flynn's name in there somewhere had they bothered to try.
His sudden free fall into obscurity does not warrant the long version

No... For the Vikings PLAYING Joe Webb would make more sense!!!

They need to go after a starting QB not a career (at least so far) backup!

Here's the thing, to be beat out by a rookie when your stock was high? Tells you something aboout the Flynn dude. Makes you wonder

It tells you that rookie played his butt off in camp.

Are they talking about a sleeper dynasty fantasy league or something

Yes he did

If the Seahawks CB's wind up suspended, and they fall out of contention, Flynn might be available--although probably not for Joe Webb. But as long as they have a shot at the playoffs the Seahawks need a backup QB who can play well enough to win games with.

The trade deadline has passed so this will have to wait until the off season.
I'd rather see Flynn go to AZ.

They need to do something. They reached for Ponder in the first round and the has proven that he can't get the job done. He's worse than Tarvaris Jackson was and he isn't winning (Jackson actually had a winning record in Minnesota). Ponder is the number one reason that this team is looking from the outside of the playoff picture.
