UMass suspends Cady Lalanne after arrest

07:38 AM ET 12.04 | University of Massachusetts sophomore center Cady Lalanne was arrested following an on-campus event Saturday. He was suspended indefinitely and won???t play in Tuesday's game against Northeastern. UMass coach Derek Kellogg read a statement to the media before practice. "Cady Lalanne is going to be suspended to a violation of athletic department policy for his conduct at an on-campus function Saturday night," Kellogg said. "Right now it's indefinitely. He will not be making the trip to Boston tonight and playing right now. - We'll continue to monitor the situation and make a decision over the next few days or so." According to the UMass police log, Lalanne was arrested for "disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting a police officer making a lawful arrest." Lalanne, who is averaging 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds, was also suspended for the Minutemen's exhibition game for a team rules violation.
