Ya might take a look at Andy Reid, he played on after his son died, and made a bunch of mistakes. Take a break, let the other coachs pick up the slack, it's not like your in division playoff

Good advice. If there are family responsibilities to handle, do so and worry about the Raiders later.

And then there was Brett Favre, who played one of the best games of his life right after his father died.

Andy Reid's situation is different. The death of his son was totally unexpected. When a parent is ill one at least has time to prepare for it.

And that game was against the Raiders. As was Matt Cassel's game against the Raiders after his father passed a year or two later.

Maybe Allen coaching will turn the tide in the Raiders favor. They are going to need all the help they can get at this point anyway.

Condolences to Allen and his family.
