03:20 PM ET 12.04 | This is a big year for Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors. Now in his third season, it's time for him to take a step forward and prove that he belongs among the league's elite young big men. However, it's going to be hard for him to do that in the short term because he has plantar fasciitis, an ultrasound confirmed on Monday. Favors is currently day-to-day and isn't expected to miss much time, but plantar fasciitis is an injury that can linger if not treated properly.

He averages 9 points and 8 rebounds in 23 minutes per game.
They need to clear out Jefferson and/or Milsap and play this kid a consistant 35 to 38 minutes per game. You'll see his progress then!
Also......he's a 21 yea-old big man. If you look at his stats (per minutes played) he's not that far off from where Dwight Howard was as a 3rd year, 21 year-old player.
The difference......Howard was playing 36-37 minutes a game.
Wanna see a young, big show progress? Ya gotta play 'em.
