05:34 PM ET 12.04 | A month after Kentucky fired him and replaced him with Mark Stoops, former head coach Joker Phillips (who has the most interesting name ever for a head coach) has found work again with a much better team, albeit in a far less significant role. The Florida Gators have hired Joker to be their new wide receivers coach and to serve as a recruiting coordinator. Joker didn't have the best run as the head coach of the Wildcats, going just 13-24 in his three years as coach. He never led a team to a record of more than six total wins and he never managed more than two conference wins per season in that span. However in moving to Florida, Joker is going back to the well so to speak, as he's been a wide receivers coach with four different schools since taking his first official coaching job in 1991. The question is will Joker Phillips redeem himself at Florida, or is he doomed to WR gigs for the rest of his career.

True dat.

And with Joker being one of the head recruiters, if WR production doesn't improve relatively soon, there's nowhere to point the finger outside of him. But I am thinking he can and will get it done, he has been successful coaching in this role for a long time, and having a stint as a HC, even losing as he did, shouldn't change that WR success.

Oh come on he was at Kentucky --- A CFB doormat! Give him a chance at a school where the basketball program doesn't siphon all the booster money.
