There should be a moratorium on coaching announcements until after the bowl season.

+1K, good Doctor. This musical-chair approach to coaching positions does a huge disservice to the student-athletes who very often like and respect their coaches and buy into their philosophies and system. It just seems patently unfair to pull the rug out from underneath these young men until at least their bowl game is over.

Coaches can leave whenever and put their teams at a disadvantage but a kid has to sit out a year to transfer. UNREAL

Never liked that rule at all. If a HC leaves the players he recruited should be allowed to leave without penalty as well.

I notice the SEC schools are offering ridiculous money for HC positions. It's almost as if they're desperate to get the next guy on board at whatever cost. To heck with the impacts to bowl season, students, players etc.

Allowing players to become "free agents" goes a bit too far even in this day and age.

Kids ought to know better than to chase after a particular coach. It's the school the select, not the coach.
