Does Reid know he's coming back?

07:59 AM ET 12.05 | In the course of a few weeks, Andy Reid cut a high-priced defensive end, fired his defensive line coach and announced Nick Foles would start the final four games. Do these seem like the actions of a coach who knows he is probably getting fired or one who knows he needs to re-evaluate what he has going into next season? "When you have change, things happen," he said. "So, one of my responsibilities is that if I feel like it's going too far one way, then I correct that." ... Could [Jeffrey Lurie] really do this? Would he really just shake off the clear desires of the fan base and bring back Reid for the final year of his contract? Maybe Lurie doesn't want to give Reid $6 million for doing nothing next season, or make up the difference if Reid gets a new gig.

Lurie would look like the world's biggest hypocrite if he brought Reid back next year after he proclaimed that 8-8 was not good enough following last season.

Why do I feel so much deja vu, like I've just read another entire paragraph about Andy Reid with no information at all in it?

If Andy could pull off 8-8 this year, it would be a miracle. Mostly because they're 3-9 already with 4 games left to play.
On the bright side, the price of cheese steak in Philadelphia should be lower next season.

Foles has been playing well. Vick wasn't playing well. They cut Babin, and the younger guys they wanted to get some playing time played well. The defensive line coach mouthed off to the media and got fired. In retrospect, those decisions all make sense.
Coach Andy is doing everything he can to keep his job, sure, but that doesn't mean he will.

Does Reid know he's coming back?
Or, perhaps a better question would be "Does Reid know he's not coming back?

The real question is which is a bigger train wreck? Jets or Eagles?

Good question. I THINK the Jets. But, it's very close. Probably flip a coin and you wouldn't be wrong.

Jest. Both are suffering from injuries, but the Eagles had a lot more talent on the roster at the start of the season and got off to a good start before the injuries and turnovers added up. The Jest don't have the talent to begin with.

Nope... With Andy gone, they'll need to raise the price to cover the loss in volume... Without Big Red, cheese steak sales will drop...

Don't tell them that. They say they're the best team in the country. Maybe ever.

You do have an acerbic wit, don't you. All things considered, Andy did lose a son this year. Pretty traumatic, and certainly detracting. Just saying....

Yes, but Trickle-Down economic theory predicts problems for mustard, ketchup and chocolate sauce if Andy leaves.

Foles is being put in a position to at least look decent while Vick had zero chance. I would love to see vick play with the same game plan the eagles have been using for foles. Where were all these stretch runs when vick was in there. With vick it was mainly shotgun handoffs with mccoy bouncing around for -5 yards behind a terrible line. Opposing d lines came into the games with their ears already pinned back. Now Foles is getting more time because brown is actually a threat in the run game. D-lines are actually looking for the run first. If Vick goes to a run oriented team with even a decent pass block he can still be very dangerous. Wish the eagles would keep him but realize there is no chance. Vick is reid's final scapegoat and honestly would not surprise me if lurie fell for it hook, line, and sinker
