04:12 PM ET 12.05 | Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appears close to being cleared and ready for Pittsburgh's Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers. Roethlisberger has missed the past three games with a shoulder and rib injury suffered in a Week 10 win over the Chiefs. Head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that Roethlisberger "made all the necessary throws" in practice on Wednesday as he works his way back for the Steelers final four-game stretch run. Tomlin also characterized the practice as a "positive day" and a "good step," comments that portend a return this Sunday.

I find it interesting that Tomlin hasn't yet said that Ben practicing well means Ben will start against SD but the press keeps jumping to that conclusion. That is Tomlin's MO though. Thursday's and Friday's practices will tell the tale. Whatever that may be'
