05:56 PM ET 12.05 | Chauncey Billups' acting job to secure three free throws against the Utah Jazz on Monday night may have earned the Los Angeles Clippers a win, but it came at a cost. The Clippers' guard was issued a flopping warning for the move, so the next time the league sees him exaggerate contact, he will pay a $5,000 fine. The play happened with the Clippers down by two points with 1:14 remaining in the game. Billups received a pass on the right wing and shot a three-pointer. Once it was clear the shot was missing, he kicked his legs out, and the referee called a foul on Jazz guard Mo Williams. The Clippers eventually won the game, 105-104.

David Stern is a pompus moron with his fine process. Next time 5,000? Exactly how is that a meaningful measure to discourage guys who make the type of money Billiups and other starters in the NBA? Hell a bench player this fine wouldn't hurt. In addition to this, the process should also be punitive to the officials as well. A process that would also lead up to officials being dismissed from the league for poor performances.
