08:09 AM ET 12.06 | Free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton appeared to be on a due diligence mission of his own earlier this week. [Hamilton], who earlier this week flew with his wife from their home in Dallas to be in town while the Winter Meetings are being held, met with Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and manager John Farrell Monday night, a source said. The meeting took place Monday night, away from the Opryland Hotel and Resort, where the meetings are housed. Cherington confirmed that he had met with "a player" while in town, but refused to identify him. Asked whether the meeting came because the Red Sox requested it or whether it was the result of the player and his agent, Cherington was evasive.

Sounds like the latter. I cannot believe the Sox are interested right now.

Really? Even after signing Napoli and Victorino to absurd $$?

Red Sox will be happy to be used to drive up the price that another team pays for Hamilton.

QUOTE(#10):

Boston doesn't care about money. They have proven they will throw cash at anyone (ex. Victorino who is garbage). If it doesnt work out they just trade them away like they did with Beckett and Crawford

The are only so many LA Dodgers ballclubs out there...

QUOTE(#8):

They play different positions and have holes in LF and RF. But, lot of uncertainty surrounding Josh and he tanked last year.

Hamilton would play RF and they would move Victorino to CF.
