08:10 AM ET 12.06 | So, will he or won't he leave Cincinnati for Colorado? The Buffaloes believed Wednesday they had a solid verbal commitment from [Butch Jones] to become the next CU football coach, entrusted with the daunting task of rebuilding a program that buried the careers of Gary Barnett, Dan Hawkins and Jon Embree. Now we shall see how just how solid any man's word can afford to be in a sport where the stakes are so high. ... There are people in power at CU convinced Jones is headed West to lead the Buffs back to glory. Meanwhile, back in the Midwest, Cincinnati president Santa J. Ono has declared he trusts Jones when the coach says he has not accepted a job with Colorado. Either way, bridges will burn while Jones fiddles his way through an explanation.

Coaching purgatory....

Last stop for those who really do not wish to coach anymore?

Butch Jones isn't even that good of a coach. Butch isn't highly thought of in Cincinnati. Whoever pays for this average coach is not getting anything. watch.

That comment is jus plain stupid the guy is loved in Cincy more then Kelly ......You know Man if you sat your brain on a razor blade it would look like a pea rolling down a 4 lane highway

I'm shocked that more of you haven't posted your predictions that Colorado will complete its hire sooner and have a better coach than Tennessee.

Someone needs to check Mr. Ono's sanity. Bridge burning is just something college coaches do.

Not sure that Jones has the juntas to get Colorado to contend in the improving PAC12.

Isn't that like predicting the sun will rise in the east?

Oddly, Skippy Neuheisel wasn't on that list of buried careers...

Not really. My buddy and his whole family are Cincy alums...they have never been on the Butch Jones bandwagon. Most Cincy fans aren't. They'd like to keep him for fear of the unknown but they don't think he's even near the same class of coach that Kelly or even Dantonio before him was.

Well piratey I have to disagree with you,I am originally from Cincy, and live there from mid july to end of Dec overlookin my farm, and B.Jones is well liked around the city and is very active in the city, where as Kelly wasn't active in the city really at all. As far as class well that is just your opinion, I'm sure when ND hired Tyrone Willingham,Charlie Weiss, you also thought they had class, and now?

Doh! I forget myself! Tennessee is the absolute sewage pond of college football and an eternal embrassment to the SEC, the FBS, and the NCAA. On the other hand, Colorado has had not troubles with lying, cheating, law breaking, assaults upon women athletes, procurement of "personal services" for recruits, or any other such nonsense.
