FIU fired coach for no reason?

04:05 PM ET 12.06 | It came as quite a shock when Florida International fired Mario Cristobal after one disappointing season. The man who built the program from nothing had turned down Rutgers the year before to stay at FIU. SI reported it was because FIU thought it could land Butch Davis. But with Davis now off the table, did FIU make the biggest coaching blunder of the year?

FIU, like every other school, is far better off WITHOUT Butch Davis. He may, or may not, win your team a championship. One thing he will DEFINITELY do, is leave said team a complete shambles.

When forced to follow even the most modest of rules, Butch Davis is a failure. He simply cannot get it done without cheating.
