04:06 PM ET 12.06 | Cincinnati coach Butch Jones has said no to Colorado after very nearly saying yes. He's also turned down Purdue, but does that mean he's sticking at Cincy? That Tennessee job has got to look tempting.

Rocky Mountain high in Colorado.

Where can I get me some creampie?

Butch Jones was my first choice for UT coach. It would be great if Hart would get him for the job-- I don't think UC can come close to matching UT's dough like some of the other proposed coaches' schools have done.

Do you think Jones was keeping UTk waiting while he checked out Perdue and Colorado? Tennessee may go after him, but clearly he wasn't their first choice. That's okay though, sometimes it works out. When scUM fired Bump Elliot, their first choice was Paterno. After he said no, the hired Schembechler. Sadly, it worked out pretty well.

It's not just one coach though, this is starting to smell like the fiasco at TSUN, just a few years ago. Hopefully UTk comes out of this situation better that the weasels did on their search!

Interesting-- I never heard that about Schembechler. So, maybe there's hope for Tennessee afterall.
I would have been happy if they had succeeded in getting Gruden or Strong, but it doesn't break my heart that they didn't, as long as they don't end up giving WAY too much money to a loser like Dooley again.

I would sooner take the HC job at The University of Baghdad, than to take over that mess at Colorado.

Good close. I was almost ready to doubt your colors.

After Butch Jones turns down UTK and stays put, Tennessee will shutter the program. Bama will declare a state holiday. Pinatas will be Fulmer effigies.

Oops. Too bad, Bama.
