Did Seahawks kick Wilson out of HQ?

08:11 AM ET 12.07 | Beyond the wins, Russell Wilson has become a coach's dream. Never have the Seahawks seen a player quite like this. One so earnest, so methodical, so devoted that he almost lives at the team complex, arriving early in the morning and leaving late at night. A rumor has spread through the locker room that the team kicked Wilson out of the headquarters during the bye week. The players shrug. It sounds like Wilson. "I take copious notes," he said as he headed toward the film room. Into the year of the rookie quarterback that was only supposed to be about Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III comes Russell Wilson. No one could have expected this back on the second day of the NFL draft when Wilson was taken in the third round, seemingly to be a backup.

You've got to like a guy who works hard and comes to every game mentally and physically prepared.

Maybe nobody saw that before the draft, but they saw it by the end of the first week of training camp. Word was that Wilson had the work ethic of Peyton Manning, and yes, as a fan of the game you've got to love that.

Got to love the headline on this thread. Tries to make a good thing sound like a disaster. Hacks.

Unless they are a Seahawk.
I hate the Seahawks.

Why is Pete Carroll smiling? Because he knows he's got a backup QB who is going to bring him a very good deal in a trade this off-season.

I've been watching this game, seriously or not, since I gave my age in single digits. For some reason, I've always hated the Cardinals.
They're a better team to not like. One season of brilliance, culminating in a last-second Superbowl defeat, in an otherwise unbroken 50 years of dismal performance.
C'mon, switch your un-allegiance to Arizona. Then you can watch an exciting player on an upstart team make some waves, and enjoy it. Those who cheer against the Cardinals are seldom disappointed.

They probably made his leave because it was a day Winston Guy, Browner and a few others were getting their "treatment."

Just got through reading the Suh article. An article on Wilson restores my optimism that football still has good guys coming up through the ranks.

Up here in the Pacific Northwest with the game day broadcast rules that exist, for years unless you lived and died with the Seahawks, you hated the Seahawks.
Because they made you miss watching Joe Montana and others since everything else was blacked out.
And instead of Joe you got Dave Krieg.
They are the reason I have Sunday Ticket.
And now they have Carroll to boot. Watching him bounce about on the sidelines chewing gum like a pig is enough to put me off dinner.
And those day glo unis!
I own a wonderful Cards beach towel. Great colours... Lousy team.

DD's right. Hating the Cardinals makes more sense for you, Hank. The Seahawks are usually just mediocre, or were pre-Carroll, but the Cardinals always find new ways to define "bad". Wilson hasn't resurrected the Seahawks by himself, and they aren't really "there" yet, but he sure has energized the fans here. I'd take one Russell Wilson over a whole D-Line of Suhs. Suh-like players tear their teams apart sooner or later.

I used to hate the Cowboys. But then there was one Superbowl, I think it was against the Steelers, where Tom Landry called a reverse, on the opening kickoff! That, I thought, was cool. I started liking Tom Landry and the Cowboys got a bit of my respect because of him.
Now, I can only pity them. RIP, Tom. You are still one of the classiest HCs of all time.

Nope. Seahawks are my #1 disliked team.
For reasons listed above.

Well, there you go. You use the Cardinals to wipe sand off your ass, right?
They're 4-and-8 and stuck in neutral. Pop a cold one and laugh at the most consistently sorry team in the NFL.

We went through many long and dismal autumns with our Patsies before Bob Kraft bought the team and turned them into champions.
But, I didn't blame them, I blamed the TV networks and the stupid contracts they had with the NFL, plus the way they decided that people who lived on the East Coast only wanted to see the Giants and Eagles. Every week. I swear, back then the Giants and Eagles must have played each other 8 times a season.
I still hate the TV networks. I hate it when my Pats get "flexed" into a late-night game and I have to get up early in the morning. I hate that F-head Roger Goofdell, too. And I take great comfort in knowing that, no matter what the sands of time may bring, the networks and the NFL will always deserve my utter contempt.

Techincally not sand, I go to the pool.
Also have 2 Pokes towels, and 1 each of Raiders, Steelers, Ravens, Cards, Pats, Colts, Dolphins and Bears.
And then there are my NFL freezer beer mugs. 2 Pokes, Steelers, Titans, Cards, SF, Raiders, Bears.

I may not have the football IQ of some of the T&R regulars, but I don't exactly feel stupid for having enjoyed the hell out of the Dave Krieg years. Of course he wasn't Joe Montana, but who else was? Look at all the quarterbacking records in the NFL and you're going to see Krieg's name up there with a lot of Hall of Famers. I suggest, Hank, that you might represent a fairly small group of locals here who felt quite that way about the Hawks in the days of Krieg, Largent, Easley, Warner, and the D-line of Green, Bryant and Nash. One of the most common comments I've heard from friends and family this year is "It hasn't been this much fun watching the Seahawks since Krieg was here".

I moved to Tampa from New Jersey in 1972. Little kid (10), no football team to root for. I mailed a letter to all the NFL teams asking for stickers and such. About 10-15 teams sent stuff. The Cowboys sent a bunch of stuff AND a personal note from Tom Landry saying thanks for the letter. They became my team. The next year, I mailed a football to them asking for Staubach, D Pearson, and Calvin Hill's autographs. Guess what I got back in the mail a month later? THATS how you make a fan for life.
