M's 'very close' to landing Hamilton

Article says they are talking about a 3 year deal between 20-25M a year. If that's the case every team in baseball would be jumping at that.

The Rangers won't lose him to someone else if all it takes is a 3 year deal.

Sorry but no. $25MM is a lot of cheddar - too much for a lot of teams to pay one player.,

That kind of money would give you Bourn or Upton and a power hitting journeyman player.

If he signs in Seattle, the Country will never see or hear from him again, other than the 5-6 times the team will be on National T.V. But he will add about an extra 1500 fans to the already feeble fan-base.

Perhaps that's a good thing somebody who wants to stay out of the spotlight.

Not a hitters park in Seattle so why go there? The Mariners I believe did talk about bringing the fences in, does anyone know if they did. If they didn't the signing of Hamilton you can be sure they will. How would Hernandez feel about shorter fences and how would it effect his record.

been closer it means nothing,,is easier to said than done,,,and what the mariners can offer to hamilton??other than bring in their stadium fences?? can't compete with only one player can they??

rangers wouldn't pay no more than 17 millions per each year, and the offer stands at 3 years nothing else as it is,,,

Hamilton could hit 40 HR and bat .350 in Seattle and still end up with only 90 RBI because nobody else can get on base over there
