12:35 PM ET 12.07 | Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is on pace for his best ever season. After undergoing offseason knee surgery to repair a torn ACL, Peterson has come back better than ever and now he has his eyes on Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards. Peterson said he is "always looking up to 2,000, 2,500 yards." He has 1,446 yards through 12 games with an amazing 6.2 yards per carry. If he averages 138.5 yards per game over his final four games he will become the seventh player to reach 2,000 yards rushing in a season.

Got to admit that he and Peyton have made it an interesting race for comback player of the year, offensive player of the year, and mvp.
