05:31 PM ET 12.07 | The Memphis Grizzlies are off to one of their best starts in franchise history. Similarly, former Grizzlies shooting guard O.J. Mayo is off to one of the best starts of his career now that he's with the Dallas Mavericks. Perhaps a separation was for the best. According to an NBA.com report, the presence of Mayo was divisive in the Grizzlies' locker room, and while the team misses his outside shooting, they feel they are better off without him. Mayo is averaging 19.8 points per game this season, which leads the Mavericks.

I don't hear Mayo complaing and it seems he doesn't miss the Grizz at all. All the yapping is coming outta the Grizz locker room. Grizz shutty and keep it moving. Look, there are a multitude of cats on this site that don't like me or my posts, think I care? I don't, I just keep it moving. My goal is always to stay "Sucker Free" and as such, I just simply don't have neither the time or inclination to entertain such suckerology from these cats. Mayo doesn't play much defense so if kinda was disruptive to the Grizz when we was on the floor just for shooting.
In DAL, no one plays any defense so he fits right in.

It is easy to say they don't miss Mayo with the best record in the NBA, but down the road they will miss his outside shooting ability because teams will start to bunch up in the middle because of lack of outside shooting.
