09:24 AM ET 12.08 | Sidney Crosby returned from New York late Thursday night and was on the ice at Southpointe by mid-morning. Because even though there likely won't be NHL games for a while -- no resumption of negotiations has been announced -- Crosby seems to be inching closer to going to Europe to play. Switzerland appears to be his most likely destination, although Crosby said he does not have anything in place at this point. Which is not to suggest that that couldn't change at any time.

I'm all for a whole new league at this point. Plenty of good players to fill it with.

Mario must have thrown him out when the owners didn't get their deal. Sid should walk softly in Pittsburgh; He came close to being a SCAB.

"Sidney Crosby leaning toward playing in Europe"

By the time Sidney is done "leaning," the season will be over in Europe.

I think Sid has seen the light and knows there isn't going to be a hockey season any time soon. The cooler heads were prevailing and actually working towards an agreement, but Bettman and/or Fehr jumped in and stopped that in a hurry. In any case a lot of players probably got some pretty good reasons for not returning to the NHL if and when they settle this.

Me too. Been watching some OMJHL games on the NHL network and those kids are pretty good. Also been watching the Baby Pens and Hershey, but I'm starting to miss the games.

Maybe Sid could take Buttman with him to Switzerland. I could see him doing Riccola commercials. ( I hurl phlegm in his general direction}
