Tim Tebow to travel, but Jets' status still mystery

10:28 AM ET 12.08 | Though the Jets still are playing coy about Tim Tebow's depth-chart status, coach Rex Ryan sure dropped a lot of hints yesterday. Tebow will travel to Jacksonville for Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars despite injured ribs, but Ryan listed Tebow as questionable, said he would not perform his duties as punt protector, indicated Tebow wouldn't run any Wildcat plays and left open the possibility of having three quarterbacks active for the game. Ryan also said Tebow would test his ribs with a workout tomorrow morning and his status would be "a gametime decision," all of which -- combined with Greg McElroy's game-winning performance last week -- would seem to indicate McElroy will be Mark Sanchez's top backup in the game. But, as always with the Jets' bizarre handling of Tebow this year, the outcome is anyone's guess.

Rex is taking the 'the GM and the owner can trade for him, but I ain't gonna play him' attitude that is a the hallmark of all well run organizations.

When you bring a QB in for show, don't be dismayed when that's all he does.

"Jets' status still a mystery"?

No... I think most of us have a pretty good idea of their status.

The key word in this thread is "bizarre."

The Jets' traveling circus is coming to town.

The Jets are the best argument for legalization in NY and NJ. If it's good for back pain, migraines and the heartbreak of psoriasis, it should give Jets fans some relief, too.

This should pack 'em in at JAX.

The Sanchez Experiment has failed. The Tebow Experiment hasn't even been tried yet.

I like the look on Sanchez' face. My guess is he's thinking "Hey, that other QB threw a pass without it being intercepted! How'd he do that?"

I think Sanchez looks pretty damn good holding that clipboard, and the pencil is a nice touch

Too bad Sanchez didn't stick with it.

Too bad for the Jets that they're stuck with Sanchez.
