11:03 AM ET 12.08 | In the aisle of a nearly empty flight from Florida early Friday, Manti Te'o and Johnny Manziel held the Heisman Trophy aloft for one of hundreds of photo ops to follow. It was heavy. It was, they were told, one of the oldest versions of the venerable award. Neither had much inclination to let go. They first met at an awards show Thursday in Orlando, Fla., and by the end of the night, Te'o's family was inviting Manziel to Hawaii and pointing out they live near the spot where the cliff-jumping scene in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was filmed. Manziel said he was sold. "He's a real cool guy, loves to chill and have fun and be with his family, doesn't like the spotlight too much," Te'o said of Manziel. "He's just like me. We love the game. We love what it can do for our family. We don't really like the spotlight, but we understand it comes with the territory and we're going to do all we can to have an impact on people that are watching." Manziel was just happy Te'o's impact was more figurative in their introductions. "The first time I talked to him, I could tell I was really going to get along with him," Manziel said. "Seeing how he plays on the field, with how big he is and how intimidating he is, I thought he might be a guy to stuff me in a locker and beat me up a little bit."

Van I agree and I will be rooting for the Irish, but please remember that if the Irish should lose the NCG, most fans will forget all about the 2012 season that ND had. It seems that some fans only remember the "winner" in the NCG!!!! :-)
