T-Wolves owner denies Pau Gasol trade rumors

11:21 AM ET 12.08 | David Kahn made a special guest media appearance at shootaround this morning to shoot down Thursday's ESPN.com -- the latest in a series of semi-regular such rumors -- that the Lakers are refusing Wolves' overtures for Pau Gasol. Kahn said he hasn't talked to the Lakers since last June. He didn't say this, but that was when he was talking with the Lakers about a bigger deal that would have brought Gasol here and sent away Derrick Williams, probably to a third team. The latest ESPN.com said the Lakers had turned down a Wolves deal built around Williams and Nikola Pekovic. Kahn said he wasn't upset about the latest rumors because that's the way the world is these days. But... "What bothers me is it has an impact on a team and its players and its family members and it's not appropriate for that reason, in other words if it's not real," Kahn said.

I hope they don't do anything until Nash comes back, then see how they play together. Plus if they keep him his contract will expire in a couple years, along with Kobe and Metta, and the Lakers can be players in free agency.

If the Lakers use Gasol as their 3rd shooter like Phil had him they can win......Kobe, Bynum were their 1 and 2 shooters, Gasol was their 3rd shooter then. Gasol cant carry a team. If any team picks him up he has to be their 3rd shooter, thats when Gasol shines!!!

D"antoni and Brown are trying to make Gasol the 2nd important role player.....Phil had Gasol as the 3rd player behind Kobe and Bynum.....The Lakers dont know his role!!! Gasol will not take over a game for you. Gasol is great when the opponent doubles on Kobe/ or when they Bynum....nobody will double Jamison or Artest!
