09:15 AM ET 12.09 | Front office men are taking another look at Mike Nolan as a serious head coaching candidate, and many have come to the conclusion he deserves a second chance. Nolan's body of work as the Falcons' defensive coordinator this year is pretty impressive. He has had five games against top 10 quarterbacks this year (two against Drew Brees, on against Robert Griffin III, one against Peyton Manning and one against Philip Rivers). Their cumulative passer rating against the Falcons is 61.3.

Jason Garrett, Rex Ryan, Romeo Crennel, Wade Philips, Dave Weinstadt, just to name a few, hasn't exactly translated into a model of sucess, now have they? Who says Nolan will be better. I suspect he's the latest HC who is hyped and will ultimately fail if given this opportunity!

Somebody shared a statistic about the most recent superbowl winning coaches being folks who were in their first head-coaching gig. Seems like it would be a good idea to give some up and comer his first shot.

There will be more than a few HC job available by this time next month. Nolan will get a couple of interviews at the very least.

As a 9'er fan, I sincerely hope that Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary are hired as HC and Asst. HC respectively for the AZ Cards.
