Josh McDaniels could get second chance as head coach

09:30 AM ET 12.09 | In his first stint as a head coach, things didn't go very well for Josh McDaniels. Hired by the Broncos in 2009, he was fired during the 2010 season. Now, as the 2013 coaching carousel approaches, McDaniels' name is bubbling back onto the list of potential head-coaching candidates. The first rumor that has landed on our radar screen links McDaniels to Cleveland. As the rumor goes, McDaniels and G.M. Mike Lombardi would come to the Browns as a package deal. Perhaps he'd be interested in coaching up Cam Newton, if the Carolina job is open. Or perhaps McDaniels would be willing to work with likely front-office chiefs Jimmy Raye and John Spanos in San Diego, if that also means working with Philip Rivers. Jacksonville remains an intriguing possibility for McDaniels, given that he could then try to reunite with Tim Tebow, the quarterback he selected in the first round of the 2010 draft.

If he gets that second chance, don't let him have the control over the draft that he had in Denver. Sheesh.

Will he push to acquire T.T.?

Why not? It would be a great move. Tebow is like Cam Newton/RGIII, only much slower and far less accurate.

And Tebow's already on the roster.

He's one of those guys who's a good OC and a lousy HC.
The kind of guy that's just what San Diego is looking for to replace Norv Turner.

The are dozens of qualified guys who need the FIRST shot @ head Coach. Why is anyone looking at this retread? Denver is now finally putting the damage he caused in the rear-view mirror.

I think the part about him being a good OC has more to do with Belichick being around than his skills as an OC. Not too many of Bill's disciples fare well after they leave Foxboro, do they?

ONLY if he NEVER gets to be in charge of the draft or free agent signings.

How'd his stint as OC for the Rams go? Anything he has tried to do without being under the blanket of Billicheck has been a disaster. As in not even close to competent. Having said that I hope he is the next HC of the Chargers.

What did Lincoln High School do to you to anger you so much? No one. I mean No one. Deserves that IDIOT as a head coach. Having that idiot as a head coach is one of the many layers of hell. I have never seen such a debacle as a head coach in my life.
Offensive Coordinator yes. Head coach NO! Cleveland does not deserve punishment like that. That city and fans have suffered enough. No one deserves Josh McDaniels no one.
