09:48 AM ET 12.09 | At one point, the NFL and/or the teams provided no-questions-asked transportation services for players who had too much to drink. Some players resisted the program, fearful that word that they were in places where they perhaps shouldn't have been doing things they perhaps shouldn't have been doing would get back to the boss, or to the Commish. So now the NFLPA provides the service to all current and former players, on a 24-hour-per-day basis. It's a confidential program, with no connection to the league or any teams. Administered by Corporate Security Solutions, Inc., drivers are dispatched to any location in the 50 states or Canada by calling the appropriate 800 number. The brochure given to players, a copy of which PFT has obtained, explains that the service is available on both a pre-arranged and an emergency basis. The document reiterates that confidentiality agreements have been signed by CSSI and the companies that provide transportation. The service costs $90 per hour, with a bill directly submitted by the company to the player. And that's the only problem with it. Plenty of folks, both in football and elsewhere, who earn a lot of money are too cheap to pay $90 per hour.

Ya Know after struggling to make ends meet, most Americans should be taken aback by this mindless and stupid postion these overpaid multimillionaires are taking. $90 an hour, really, most players should never be no more than an hour or two from home during the season so at best we're talking $180. Then to think that these idiots take the very dangerous and sometimes deadly approach by ignoring other folks lives and then drive anyways is incomprehensible to make and as such I have absolutely zero tolerence or sympathy for them when caught. They're ass deserves jail as would be the case for the averate american. That sums it up!

If they're too cheap to pay $90 an hour, they can just hail an ordinary cab in most big cities.

This is going to be a tough game - I fear Green-Ellis is going to make fantasy football players very happy today.

You want to hear foolish with criminal intent. Where I live there is no cab or public transport service. Used to be if you were out and felt you had one or more too many drinks, you could call your local police and they would come get you and take you home. If they felt you had been abusing their service, they would have you spend the night in jail. So them The State passed a new low, made a night in jail manditory, plus they had to breathalize you and if you failed cite you for public drunkeness. Yea baby I'm gonna call them now.
