I don't see Briles taking the job. Seems like Morris would be the front runner with his experience and ties to Texas.

I have an idea ....
Diaz to FIU and Venables to TX. Don't care about the rest.

Or maybe Leach and Tuberville are too much a like and Tech considers them both problem children.

He was never embraced by the alumni and didn't seem to care. He was always a transitional coach in the eyes of many I talk to.
But - Cincinnati?

Well, it is better than Lubbock, at least.

I think Derek Dooley would be a good canidate, He wants to run the spread, he'll bring better emphasis on defense, and TTU doesnt have Bama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina every year on their schedule. Tennessee had 5 teams ranked in the top 20 on their schedule. Coaching is in his bloodline, and a place where there's not as much pressure to win and the schedule is not as tough would be a good fit for Dooley.

cold in ohio w very few texas women there.....lubbock is a day drive to mountains, palo duro canyon, kind of an eye of beholder thingy....ttu is a nice looking campus and a good school....will likely pull a better coach than tuberville was and return to prominence...

I don't know what happened to Diaz...he was great at Miss State when he was here...State has usually had a very good defense and RB, just never had a good QB
