Vince Young tweets Larry Fitzgerald about getting Cardinals QB job

03:33 AM ET 12.10 | As the blowout in Seattle reached it's conclusion, Vince Young tweeted Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald basically letting him know that while the Cardinals have three seemingly incapable quarterbacks, Young is sitting on his couch looking for work. Not even a decade ago, Young was leading the Longhorns down the field in what many consider to be one of the greatest drives in college football history at the Rose Bowl. Now, he's reduced to sheepishly approaching elite players on Twitter like a homeless man on the streets, shyly asking for a dollar to buy a burger at McDonalds. But perhaps the saddest part of the story, is that the reject ex-first round draft pick sitting on his couch eating potato chips and tweeting athletes for a job on Sunday's is probably better than all the quarterbacks on the Cardinals roster combined.

lol vince maybe you should work on your game and get better and try out at camps during the offseason and earn you are job

December 10, 2012  07:02 AM ET

Yes, Arizona should sign young. That way they would have four incompetent quarterbacks.

December 10, 2012  07:33 AM ET

Seahawks CRUSHED the Cardinals yesterday... Anything should be on the table.

December 10, 2012  07:50 AM ET

Can't blame him for trying!!!

December 10, 2012  07:54 AM ET

VY will probably get hired....right after Larry starts doing the hiring.

December 10, 2012  08:18 AM ET

Sorry, Vince, three useless QBs is enough.

December 10, 2012  08:48 AM ET

Hawks handed the Cardinals a beatdown.....

December 10, 2012  09:08 AM ET

Pretty sad, but funny too.

Hey Vince, after you trashed Fisher so bad he lost his job for two years, no white coach wants a dam thing to do with you. All you had to do is play football but you had to make it racial. You had to make it about you and everyone was against you. I bet if you call Jarmarcus, the two of you could muster money to take a bus to Canada. They made need some QB help up there.

This guy has had a few tryouts recently the Bills and they all failed. Perhaps his hips got a little to wide to be a mobile quarterback.

You can do anything by Tweet nowadays ....except improve your game....LOL

Fisher was the beginning of that not the problem, not Vince. Fischer said very publically from the get go that he did not want Vince on the team and damn near made it impossible him to be as effective as he could have been. Fisher deserved to be trashed and got his just due in the end.

December 10, 2012  01:59 PM ET

Probably better than all the other Cardinals QB's combined, but still not good enough to win a game.

And while they're at it go out and get Matt Leinhart too...

Yeah, it's all Fishers fault that VY can't get a job now, that he condn't cut it with the Eagles. Fishers fault that VY had a prima donna rep as being the last to practice, 1st to leave, tried to committ suicide...

Maybe there was a reason Fisher didn't want Young. If he was racist he seemed to get along all right with his previous black QB, Steve Mcnair. No, VY and Jamarco Russkitt are what happen when owners like Bud Adams, Jerry Jones, and Al Davis try to run the team.

Maybe this doesnt apply to Vince (as much) but black QB'S really don't get a fair shake and second chances are far and few in between. Vince has more talent than a lot of Qb's in the league right now even as terrible as we all think he is. But why give him the shot when Kolb is around? Or Cassel? Or Brady Quinn? (insert any other white guy who has done nothing to deserve all these chances)

December 10, 2012  02:48 PM ET

And I don't think Fisher has a racist bone in his body....same can't be said league wide

The Buffalo Bills gave him a chance in the preseason.
He couldn't win the backup job over Tyler Thigpen.

Think about that for a moment...

Reports from around here are that he wasn't willing to put in the work to learn the playbook. That he was depending on 'natural talent' to carry him through...

Yea I agree the guy isn't someone I'd want on my team but at the same time my statement about black QB'S and even his talent are not invalid or overstated. He has no excuse but what about Sean King, Brad Smith set tons of records at MU and they made him a receiver, Hines Ward same thing, Troy Smith, Randall El same thing as Brad Smith. And the list really goes so much longer than that. Vince Young aside.......black qb's are an anomally in the league. Only things moreso is a head coach, GM and an owner (none)

Two of the top candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year are Russell Wilson and Robert Griffin III. Tell me again how black QBs don't get a fair chance in the NFL. The list of guys who were great QBs in college but couldn't cut it in the NFL isn't limited to black men. For a prime example, see: Tebow, Tim.
