08:07 AM ET 12.10 | Perhaps history will only strike once for Johnny Manziel. Enjoy your Heisman, Johnny Football, because it probably won't get much better than this. You've won the prestigious trophy earlier in your college career than anyone who has ever played the game. Beware of what lies ahead. It's no coincidence that there has only been one two-time Heisman winner. ... As new and exciting as Johnny Football is now, he'll be old hat by next fall. Meanwhile, the games must be played and the pressure will be on the 2013 edition of Manziel. The target on his back will be bigger than ever in the SEC. Defensive coordinators will be concocting exotic game plans to stop the defending Heisman winner.

It was a different time. Now, with 24 hours sports news, internet, blogs and pundits, it seems un-American for anyone to win a 2nd Heisman.

come on now, get real, his name is not Tim.

Good one...and he's not a Saint either.

That's pretty sorry grammar, huh? My English teaching aunt would be very disappointed in me.

But, I let her down a lot with my vocabulation.

In a normal year he wouldnt have won...But then again, look at his competition for it..These were the worst set of finalist since Gawd knows when

...and the fewest number invited to NY that I can remember.

Anyone know if they have ever invited less than three?

Billy Sims should have won 2....
Fumble against Neb cost him the 2nd!

svt should be very rich by now.

He can't easily deposit it and it takes too long to pay for everything in quarters...besides, if he shows up with a bag of quarters, everyone will think he is just a two-bit whure

Yeah they are, they gave the Heisman to the least deserving candidate since Mark Ingram.

Could have been worse. They could have given it to Teo.

One obstacle to JM's back-to-back Heisman prospects is the rebuilding of the O-line beginning in 2013. Another is SEC coaches prepping for him and the TAMU O.

Here's the rub, even if JM could put together another season stellar enough to recapture the imagination of Heisman voters, he'll not match Archie. AG did it back-to-back. Next year is going to be tough sledding for JM & TAMU.

if atm holds to form, they will take a step back, especially because of what you say.

Most have 2 of his linemen going top 10 in draft.
