Daly, Steve Fehr in contact over weekend

08:13 AM ET 12.10 | Perhaps the strange theater that ushered in the weekend served merely as a show. Even after Thursday's emotional breakdown of talks between the National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association, the two sides continue to stay in touch. TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com reports that NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA special counsel Steve Fehr have spoken over the weekend but there is still nothing officially scheduled at this point. The lockout entered its 85th day on Sunday with the prospect of more game cancellations looming early in the coming week. 422 games have been cancelled so far through Dec. 14, along with the Winter Classic and the All-Star Game.
