08:20 AM ET 12.11 | The NHL made it official Monday, lopping off another few weeks from the schedule. A total of 526 games -- 42.8 percent of the season -- has now been canceled, though B's president Cam Neely remains optimistic there will be some semblance of a season. "I've been half-full this whole way, so I'm staying half-full. It's frustrating," said Neely this morning at a charity event. "A lot of people thought we'd be playing by now, but I'm still optimistic that something will get done. At least, obviously, that's my hope." Also off the B's schedule: Dec. 15 vs. Florida, Dec. 20 vs. Winnipeg, Dec. 22 vs. Washington and Dec. 26 vs. Ottawa, which had all been scheduled for the Garden. The New Year's Eve game in Calgary is still technically on the schedule.

How many people still "technically" care?

Since we have had a dearth of controversy in here lately, how bout this:

Since when is Cam Neely a 'legend'?

I'll watch. But the NHL has tried my last nerve.

He officially became a Bruins legend when they hung his number in the rafters.

And, when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Legend may be steep. But he's definitely one of the better guys to have played the game, without a doubt.

Nothing against Neely, but I thought this would be a quote from Orr or Esposito.

Looking at the cancelled games, it's a shame for the Bruins as those are 4 easy wins right there :)

Trying for a little more controversy.

I wonder if Cam's a Democrat?

How in the world did Vancouver ever let him get away?

And gave them a draft pick (Glen Wesley) for good measure...

Hes a legend for the way he played the game minus any statistics. Gave his all and took on anyone who came his way. True throw back player.

When I played, I was always a throw out my back player.

Canucks didn't do their due diligence. Pederson was looking good playing with Middleton and two arms.

By the time he got to V Town, he only had one arm and of course nothing resembling a Middleton.

From the picture I was thinking they were going to call The Lummox the legend.

Depends upon your perspective.
