08:10 AM ET 12.12 | Could Boston's Dec. 3 deal with Mike Napoli's somehow be in jeopardy? The Red Sox anticipated introducing Napoli at a news conference Tuesday, according to major-league sources, but did not go forward with the event. Napoli, 31, reached agreement with the Red Sox on Dec. 3 on a three-year, $39 million free-agent contract, pending a physical. Initial reports from ESPN.com and the Providence Journal said that Napoli's physical was scheduled for last Wednesday, with an announcement expected at week's end. Napoli, according to a source, actually underwent the physical more recently. His deal, however, is still not official. Neither Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington nor Napoli's agent, Brian Grieper, responded to requests for comment.

Am I crazy, or is that Mark Bellhorn shown on the teaser for the "They Also Served" article on si.com instead of Todd Walker? It's a very similar pose to one from the cover of an '04 SI with Bellhorn's autograph that I snagged at auction after the WS win.

You are good! And yea, I believe you are right.

Nice try, interns!

Probably a donut-eating Boston Globe reporter.

I'll bet some of those guys have maple frosting and coffee instead of blood in their veins.

I know I do.

For me?

Caffeine yes. As they say, mathematicians (one of my academic paths) are people who turn caffeine into theorems.

Frosting? It's all yours, along with the bacon. Enjoy!

I'll give you a teaser then; "Boston much money has spent on talent of average ability with owie-syndrome problems."

I have my Google Translate ready to go.
