08:07 AM ET 12.12 | Jason Terry has been in Boston for a short time, but he's already seen enough of Doc Rivers and Bill Belichick to make a lofty comparison. After practice Tuesday, Terry said that he sees a lot of Belichick's discipline in Rivers' coaching technique every day. "He's the Bill Belichick of basketball because of his execution of what he draws up in the timeouts, in practice," Terry said. "We go over it time and time again. And there's a big emphasis on doing things the right way, whether it's defensively doing our coverages or offensively, the little things. Setting screens, making sure you make the proper cut, just being focused on every single possession is so critical, like it is in football. That's why I say he is the Bill Belichick of basketball."

Nah! Pops is more the Bill Belichick of the NBA.

This Terry cat is quite deluisonal. Their records don't even compare. Doc is more of a one hit wonder like the 2011 Dallas Mavericks.

Come To LA, Bro.

Yeah, all he need to do now is coach the game in a throw back Hawks uniform or an old school sweat uniform with one of the legs pulled up above the knee and holding/eating out of a box of Chinese food Shrimp Fried Rice and bottle water/glass of red/white wine.

QUOTE(#9):

of course you don't... your team being the knicks, you haven't experienced any winning or a great coach in a very long time.... Jeff Van Gundy or Pat Riley are really the last coach to take you close to the promise land... That's right, I said close.... Doc Rivers is a great coach, although just won one championship, he's been acknowledged as a good coach by his peers and was voted Coach of the Yr once. As i stated in my earlier comment, most players want to play for Doc. JGB, you've been on FanNation for a long time.... Submitting objective comments makes you look good. Saying you don't see a comparison in Belichick and Rivers is an emotional opinion w/ self thought. They BOTH win on a consistent basis. Both coaches advance when it counts. You should try raising the number of your comments w/ valid/objective comments....

Your comments would seem to suggest that Scott Brooks, whom many on this site says is a bad coach, is actually a great coach because he won the Coach of the Year two years ago when OKC won 52 games. I have mentioned time and time again that Scott Brooks is indeed a great coach and a perfect fit for the young OKC Thunder. Both, the team and the coach, are learning together...a perfect combination, in my opinion.

Not quite. Doc actually has a personality.

Didn't the Patriots win multiple Super Bowls? What have the Celtics won? A championship when the other team's center was out. Not even close.
