Taj Gibson still baffled by rare ejection

05:13 PM ET 12.12 | The Chicago Bulls defeated the now 14-5 New York Knicks on Dec. 10. While the Bulls won that game, with a final score of 93-85 at the United Center, Taj Gibson was surprisingly tossed out of the game after receiving two technical fouls. The first foul occurred when Gibson argued over a loose-ball. After that, he kept asking 24-year NBA referee veteran, Derrick Stafford, questions, being persistent and trying to understand why he received the foul. After that, Stafford had enough and seemed to impulsively give Gibson another foul, kicking him out the game. After the game Gibson was puzzled by his rare ejection and even almost a week later Gibson still doesn't understand why he was thrown out of a game he didn't think he should have been tossed from.

Always makes me laugh how players are 'puzzled' by their ejections.
Don't hassle the referee about a foul you know why you received.

...and if you don't know why you received it, learn the damn game.

He didn't hassle the ref over a foul, he hassled (if you want to call it that) the ref regarding the reason for a technical he received earlier.....a technical that seemed to have no basis for being levied in the first place.

Essentually, he earned the distinction of recieving two techs without having thrown a punch, committing a hard (flagrant) foul, or cursing.

Such is the plight of bench players in the NBA.

It just seems pointless to dispute a call, when it NEVER gets changed.

True......but it still happens, all the same.

The ridiculous part is the ref ejecting him from a relatively close game for doing what EVERY SINGLE NBA player does.

More and more, we're seeing refs reacting to getting their feelings hurt. Pretty unprofessional.
