04:52 PM ET 12.12 | Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson's season is over as the team put him on the non-football injury list for illness. Patterson has been dealing with a scary case of viral pneumonia, which caused him to miss the Eagles' Week 14 game against the Jaguars. Patterson was hospitalized last Thursday in advance of the game in Jacksonville. As Bleeding Green Nation notes, there are also reports that Patterson's pay from the team will take a hit as a result of the move. ProFootballTalk reports that Patterson will be docked roughly $150,000 as he finishes out the final three games of the season on the Non-Football Injury List. The pay cut will obviously not go over well with Patterson, who has spent his entire career with the Eagles' organization.
