Marshall spices rivalry: 'This is personal'

08:00 AM ET 12.13 | Brandon Marshall hasn't been around in Chicago long, but he's already deep in an NFC North rivalry. [Marshall] has had two games in which he was limited to just two receptions. One was in San Francisco, the other was in Green Bay. After Marshall was held -- he says literally, by Packers DB's -- to his two catches and the Bears had lost, members of the Green Bay secondary made disparaging comments about [Jay Cutler]. "Same old Jay," said safety Charles Woodson. Those remarks and others about Marshall's play left the franchise wideout angry at the time and no less so now. "This is personal," Marshall said on Wednesday, after coming to the podium carrying a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. ... "I really dislike the Green Bay Packers," Marshall said.

Well - you just tell 'em, Brandon.

Okay.....next!

Nobody is listening, Brandon.

So a player on a failing Bears team is complaining about the ascendancy of the Packers? I am shocked. Shocked I tell you.

OT: our son Julius was born 6:44pm Tuesday December 11th. I grew up in Milwaukee, hence my fandom for the Packers but as we live in Houston, Julius will be a Texans fan.

I had a feeling this story would find its way here...

The "same old Jay" quip from Charles Woodson still cracks me up. Now all the Pack need to do is figure out QBs like Eli Manning and Alex Smith.

Both of these teams should try making less noise at the podium and more noise on the field.

Congratulations!

Recommendation: Make diaper time happy. Smile and interact, even though the task is not usually a pleasant one. Position him sideways on the table, though, not facing you, unless you are wearing a protective lab coat.

His two receptions were more likely the result of Cutler not being able to get a pass off before getting nailed than holding by the Packers.

Wait, how many teams has Marshall been with lately? I hope he's using protection.

Dear Brandon Marshall:
you should heed the words of Hyman Roth, "So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen; I didn't ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!"

Oh Melman, I can understand Eli, he owns the packers. But Alex? One game against us and he owns us. Not there yet and who knows if they need to worry about him. He might not play again for the niners. I am sure Jay is happy his boy stood up for him. That was funny. He must be off his meds again.

They sure do have Cutler's number.

Hey, Alex did get the job done, and Kaepernick seems like he could give fits to defenses all around the league for a long time. The Niners seem like they're a team that matches up pretty well with Green Bay... a very good balance on offense and defense. But as you said, not there yet.

And as for Marshall... I'm just happy he's stayed in his shoes this season up to now. Heck, it's been 10 effin' years since the Bears had a 1000+ yard WR.

They do. I'd say 65% of that is Cutler's own doing, and the other 35% comes from the knowledge that his O-line isn't going to be doing him any favors.
