08:02 AM ET 12.13 | Drew Brees isn't ready to let it go, and on Wednesday he upped the ante from his Tuesday Twitter criticism. [Brees] took dead aim at the NFL front office and Commissioner Roger Goodell as he leveled harsh criticism for how the case was mishandled from start to finish, saying there was much more interest in achieving an outcome than making certain the process was fair and correct. ... "What I would like to see is the level of accountability on the part of the NFL and Commissioner Goodell in regards to the mishandling of this entire situation," Brees said. "We as players hold ourselves to very strict code of conduct on and off the field. We have to be accountable to that as it should be. I feel they should be held to the same standards."

The accountability for Goodell will come when he gets his pink slip. His ego made decisions his position couldn't support.

Exactly. The same type of "ego" he fines every week in the NFL.

Drew... ask your suspended HC if he holds himself to the same level of accountability that you want the league to hold itself to.

People cry when Goodell does it to THEIR team, but turn the other cheek when it's another.
It's the same mis-use of authority that you guys cry about any other day, however this is bigger.

No question the Saints did something wrong. As did probably 80% of the teams. Regardless of that, Goodell has too much absolute authority. He's a human being and his ego and emotion is going to cause him to make many bad decisions.

I thought he was a little wooden puppet whose strings were pulled by the owners.
And his nose gets longer when he tells a lie.

So far, Goodell has done exactly what the owners hired him to do. He beat the players union to a bloody pulp for this latest CBA and makes all the right noises about being concerned about player's safety to probably avoid a huge class action law suit settlement. Whether or not the owners left him out to dry by letting Tags come in and humiliate him remains to be seen. Once all the beatings have been administered, look for the owners to replace Goodell with a kinder, gentler commish who will be easier to like.
