08:06 AM ET 12.13 | This year, Carmelo Anthony is scoring and the Knicks are winning. If the voting for the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award were held today, [Anthony] would be a consensus selection. But that's not reality. One quarter of a season does not make an MVP. At this point in 2010, Amar'e Stoudemire would have gotten his share of MVP votes, but then came trades and injuries and his season didn't deserve a trophy. So while chants of "MVP! MVP!" will continue to be showered on Anthony, it won't become a reality unless he continues to shine in games like [Thursday's] when the Knicks face the Lakers at Madison Square Garden. ... Anthony's season will be judged by games like Tuesday and games against the Lakers, Heat, and Thunder.

The way the Lakers are playing defense, judging him against LA isn't something that should go into MVP consideration.

It'll come down to Melo and Durant - who can stay healthy and play at a high level throughout the season. Melo's getting props cos he just bought into the team concept. Durant's been doing that for a long time so if I had to vote even though I'm a Knicks fan I'll vote Durant for MVP. I wish Melo well and I hope he continues to develop as team player. But right now I think Durant deserves it because his team has a better record and his stats are a tad better than Melo's.

Doc, I have told you that this moron is not a Knicks fan, his profile says MA, get it. Him and JGB a Buffalonian, calls themselves Knicks fans but are always, and I mean always, speaking subversive of the Knicks, and Melo in paticular. KD stats are 27.3, 8.5, 4.3, 50% and playing with Westbrook, among others. Melo stats are 27.7, 6.6, 2.1, 46% and playing with Felton. Most people would say there's not much difference in their stats, well, except, Lostwill & JGB.
Listen Man, niether of them are true Knicks fans, one from Mass, the other upstate, that says it all. The knicks are playing just as well as the Thunder but yet in their eyes, it overwhelming KD....these putzs. Enough said on that wipe of a Knicks fan!

Didn't he just get out of the hospital? The guy's always sick with something. Nah... he's not ready. Now if you mentionedChris Paul, Rudy Gay, or one of those cats on the Memphis team there'd be slight substance but nah... Kyrie doesn't belong here. He's not even all star material in my books. Even at the point guard position Rondo, Deron Williams and Felton are way ahead of him...
