Boise State could save (or sink) the Big East

08:17 AM ET 12.13 | What becomes of the Big East has a lot to do with what Boise State, which doesn't have to be in the east or a part of the conference, decides to do. This is not the Big East that Bob Kustra bought into a year ago. Forget that, it's not the same Big East it was yesterday. It's strange, then, that the Boise State University that Kustra oversees wields more power than ever in its 80-year history. If it bolts the Big East -- and it could, easily, today if it wanted to -- the reconfigured league falls apart. ... A quaint state school on the banks of the Boise River is the Big East's football flagship. "There isn't another, other anchor team [in the Big East]," one college administrator said.

This title is irony at it's finest. A school in a far Western state is not only just being included, but is now the ultimate linchpin to the success or failure of a conference named the Big East.

This conference is toast!

Boise. MWC, baby. Let the BE crash and burn, arising from the ashes as the b'ball-centric entity it truly is.

December 13, 2012  09:39 AM ET

Boise in the PAC is a long view possibility. Immediately, Boise needs to play in the MWC for 2013 forward and let Big Least football die.

True, forgot about that one.

Another one loss team that didn't pass the pretty test.
