08:20 AM ET 12.13 | The Toronto Marlies aren't taking any chances with young Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner, whom Don Cherry earlier this week called the best player in the AHL. The 22-year-old blueliner did not skate with the AHL team Wednesday, still shaken following a big hit in a game Saturday against Rochester. Marlies coach Dallas Eakins says Gardiner is suffering symptoms consistent with a concussion, though the injury hasn't been labelled as such. "He's got a bunch of issues in his neck and some headaches, so yes it could be symptomatic to a concussion or could be symptomatic to neck pain," Eakins said at practice. Gardiner, who missed Sunday's game against Abbotsford, will not dress Saturday in Rochester.

K once again i'm missing the point - who have the Leafs had concussion issues with? All I can think of is Colby Armstrong and James Reimer. When compared to other teams, not exactly the end of the world...

Has nothing to do with the concussion...it's his answer or lack thereof.

They only say it if they can soften any possible liability, or contributing actions ,by saying "concussion like" symptoms ;-)
