04:33 PM ET 12.14 | Ordinarily, not many coaches would consider making a lateral move from Texas to Florida State. But with the Horns appearing to be on the downswing and FSU returning to the top of the ACC, maybe it's not such a lateral move after all. Texas defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has plenty of ties to the state of Florida, including starting his coaching career under FSU assistant Mickey Andrews.

This 'Nole would welcome Mr. Diaz with open arms. He started his coaching career under one of the best DC's in CFB history. We'll take him!

Of course, this IS just another rumor...

Not that I want anymore turmoil this year, but I wouldn't be heartbroken.

His D may work in the ACC, but it sure as heck isn't in the b12. Stoops laughed at what he was doing.

Yeah, I suppose you're right about that...Hmmm. Maybe we DON'T want him, LOL!

I just don't understand, why Texas isn't giving Diaz a rise, so he can take over for Brown. Texas already let a good DC leave for Florida!!!

Probably not, but it is headed under truth or rumors, so it could not be so true too.

Isn't a DC at FSU and Texas, still a DC and therefore a "lateral move"???
