04:34 PM ET 12.14 | Kobe Bryant is still optimistic that the 9-14 Los Angeles Lakers will snap out of their early-season funk, but to do it, he's calling upon one player to step up and help carry the team. "A lot of responsibility is going to fall on me and Pau [Gasol], but we need Metta [World Peace]," Bryant told Yahoo! Sports. "Metta has a big presence on this team. I really encourage him to take that role head on ??? and to be an enforcer with it. But Metta, he's done it before. We've won before together." Bryant later said that, more generally, the players he has won championships with before need to be the leaders of the team.

Last night was a micrososm of Artest's abilities. You watch him for stretches and he looks GREAT. He's aggressive, hitting open threes and playing physical defense. Then you watch, and he misses a WIDE OPEN lay-up, airballs a three and plays timid on defense. It's strange.

Sounds like the need Ron Artest to come back with some of his old school nastiness. Forget this World Peace guy. They need much more that that though.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 2nd amendment. This has nothing to do with being Republican or Democrat.

If its in their hearts, the Lakers will be OK. The return of Nash may provide more scoring opps. The return of Blake should have more players used to playing together on the court. That should have them playing 500 ball.

I think they should have picked up West. I hate Dallas too.

Waive the other point guards.
