10:01 AM ET 12.15 | Various teams have chimed in since to say that Anderson Varejao is highly available, as he has been for the past few seasons, but likewise expressed a good amount of skepticism about his actually moving before the trade buzzer in February because the Cavs' perpetually high asking price has only gone up. The Cavs, sources say, want multiple young assets in return for the 30-year-old, who is averaging 14.3 points and 14.8 rebounds and possesses a very manageable contract that calls for Varejao to receive $9.1 million next season with a $9.8 million team option in 2014-15. The Thunder are the rare title contender also blessed with the sort of youth/stashed draft picks to appeal to Cleveland, but sources say OKC has shown little interest to date.

QUOTE(#5):

Santa said the Buss family has him on top of their list.

He's the type of high energy guy that the Lakers need right now, but LA doesn't have the assets to get him from Dan Gilbert.

QUOTE(#3):

I keep thinking he would be a huge help to San Antonio and help preserve Duncan from all of the heavy lifting.

Why them?

QUOTE(#7):

The only way that happens is if the Lakers move Pau Gasol and involve a third or fourth team to come up with the 'assets' that interest Cleveland.

Byron Scott would take Pau in a heartbeat!

OKC management are afraid to take a chance.
They didn't win with Perkins at center last year, and they won't win with him again!
They have a chance to trade for Verajao and Presti will once again hide his head in the sand on this one?
Gotta be crazy or stupid!

The Cavs don't know how lucky they are that there are no takers. There's a couple of recreation league teams in Cleveland that would beat the Cavs without Varejao.

QUOTE(#4):

he would be, but not sure if SA has anything to offer....maybe Kawai? but he's not really going to be anything more than a role guy, and the cavs don't need that-

No way the Spurs would trade Kawhi for AV. No way. Kawhi will be a superstar in a few years. The guy is only 21 years old, is a fierce defender, improving on his offensive skills and has a fantastic attitude. Kawhi will be the face of the Spurs in 3 years when Duncan and Ginobili are retired.
