09:55 AM ET 12.15 | David Wilson has backflipped out. The Giants rookie running back and kick returner, who punctuated each of his three touchdowns last Sunday with a celebratory backflip, said on ESPN today that he's done doing the flip, at least for this year. "I think I'll let that celebration go for the rest of the season," Wilson said. "I think it's for the team's best interests." Wilson explained why, saying, "I don't want to make anyone upset or nervous or scared. I want to do something that people enjoy rather than worry about." Earlier this week, Wilson told reporters that he had not been asked by the Giants to stop doing the backflip but did say that GM Jerry Reese "told me if I get hurt then he'll be in my grill." Justin Tuck was one Giant who told Wilson not to do it, for fear of injury. Asked on ESPN how he'll celebrate if he scores a touchdown now, Wilson said he has no firm plan yet.

LOL! I"m one of the old guys!
Glad Wilson is doing this. I remember Adrian Peterson breaking his collar bone in college when he did a flip into the end zone. And Ted Ginn pulling a muscle or tendon during a celebration. Not smart.

Good. Like they always said, "Act like you been there before."

There comes a time when it gets too dangerous.
Carl Edwards Nascar driver, celebrates his wins like this and he has retired his backflip too.....no...wait a minute....he did not retire it....he hasn't won anything lately....LOL

Love watching the back flips....something I could never do, even as a kid.

Yes. This. And, these "me" celebrations disrespect the other 10 men on the field who had something to do with you being in the end zone.
