NHL using monitored players' tweets as evidence

10:18 AM ET 12.15 | In a class action complaint filed at a New York court Friday, the NHL included plenty of evidence to try and establish that the NHLPA had always intended to decertify or file a disclaimer of interest. There were 36 players named in the statement of claim by the league -- all members of the NHLPA's executive committee and even some draft picks -- as the league went to great lengths to prove its case. Not only were NHLPA representatives of all seven Canadian teams named in the filing, the league also included quotes from several players talking about the possibility of going the decertification route over the last couple of months. Included in the evidence was tweets from San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture, Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Matt Carle and Florida Panthers forward Scottie Upshall supporting NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr's leadership to show a disclaimer doesn't have any weight.

More sighing.....

Loose lips sink ships. Regardless of the outcome of this maneuver, the players should have zipped it.

That's the whole problem! They're too stupid to realize they're just puppets.

Ha! And they accuse fans of being sheep!

I guess the PA should sue their players like the owners did?

Plus, really tweets about possibly doing somethign in the future is really going to be damaging evidence. I am sure when the judge sees biznasty saying I don't like Bettman, he will say, well this is getting serious since Biznasty is saying these mean things.

And if the NHL wins, what do they win. The PA can't disband but can still file a disclaimer of interest...wow. GREAT MOVE NHL. You got them. This will help with the deal right. Oh wait, this has nothing to do with a deal. Oh OK

No, its actually the league calling us all sheep. Saying, we can lock everyone out as many times as possible and you will keep coming back.

Fehr is the other end of the ass ?? So Fehrs the mouth ?? I dont get it.

Here:

I???m not sure if this point is so much illustrative as it is just plain funny, but after months of whispering that Donald Fehr was misleading his players and hinting that unity was a major problem, the league took pains to illustrate exactly how awesome the NHLPA has been for the players. The NHL???s complaint digs up tweets, quotes, anything at all said by an NHL player that supports the argument the union is unified and meeting the needs of players.

Even you'll agree Rex.

Didn't think Bettman could get much lower than he was but hey, I'll admit when I am wrong. I sincerely hope that the fans and advertisers stay away and drive the league to bankruptcy. I know I'll do my share. Absolutely NO trademark NHL products will darken my door and you can take your game tickets and $11 cups of beer and shove that too.

That's not going to do much to support those poor misunderstood players, now is it?

I don't like him at all and you know it. Doesn't change the point that the players did not help their cause with all the moaning and groaning in or on public forums.
