10:51 AM ET 12.16 | When the Giants play the Falcons today, the Giants will have the initials of Sandy Hook Elementary School on the backs of their helmets. Some players will pay tribute to specific victims of Friday's tragedy. ESPN's Chris Mortensen passed along word at the outset of Sunday NFL Countdown, via ESPN's Josina Anderson, that Giants receiver Victor Cruz will place the name of six-year-old Jack Pinto on Cruz's gloves and cleats. Cruz contacted Jack's parents after learning that the boy was among Victor's many fans. Jack Pinto was such a big fan of Victor Cruz that Jack's parents are considering laying their son to rest in Cruz's jersey.

A meaningless gesture. Will the Giants, the NFL, and the country just keep up with these gestures, candlelight vigils, speeches, etc. every time something like this happens?

Not to the family of that 6 year old it isn't

Yeah, it is. A bunch of multimillionaires wearing a school's initials won't bring back 20 children and a half-dozen faculty.
