11:46 AM ET 12.16 | New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowskiis officially listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Earlier reports indicated he was unlikely to play but the rumor mill began churning over the weekend with suggestions that he could be active. Gronkowski broke his arm a few weeks ago and has a lingering hip injury. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. He seems unlikely to play a major role on Sunday Night Football.

He won't be playing tonight. The Pats can beat the Niners without him just as well as they could lose with him. Having him healthy for the playoffs is far more important than seeding.

I'd be surprised as well if he was active.
