Ice thinning under Schwartz

07:48 AM ET 12.17 | In a season with more than its share of disappointments, Jim Schwartz's team on Sunday suffered perhaps its most frustrating of them all. The NFL schedule-makers gave Schwartz what should have been the perfect remedy for a team on a five-game losing streak -- a team on a nine-game losing skid. But the Lions again did what only they can do so well, with such annoying frequency. They looked like a team that didn't care anymore in a 38-10 loss [Sunday] to an Arizona team that supposedly quit on its season and its coach in a 58-0 wipeout a week prior. And that should reflect poorly on Schwartz. ... "It's as mad as I've been for a long time," Schwartz said afterward. And now it shouldn't be automatic that Schwartz returns next season.

He never was a good coach - the Lions have some great offensive talent and that's what kept him his job for this long.

Take a Xanax and call it a career. Your days as HC are over.
Or, didn't they tell you; loser of Cards/Lions gets the pink slip. It was definitely in my morning newspaper!

Maybe Schwartz should bring Matt Millen in as a consultant.

Two more weeks, two more of these threads, and he's gone.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Jim.

People stopped noticing the Lions weeks ago.

They should be doing a lot of tanking for the next two weeks...

I'm enjoying watching the Lions implode. Couldn't happen to a nicer, more deserving bunch of guys.

Someone is going to benefit from Schwartz' ineptitude...

There are some good pieces on this team waiting for a good coach to harness them

The name Chip Kelly comes to mind. I know it would take a few years, yet put his offense on turf under a dome? Who knows...

Give him a chance, he's due and I remember him from his playing days, he came prepared.

Of course having your QB primping for commericals instead of the game don't help with 3 Int.
