UConn basketball at a crossroads

08:03 AM ET 12.17 | There was a time things seemed almost easy for Connecticut in the Big East. The Huskies used the Big East and its advantageous recruiting ties to big cities to become one of the top basketball programs in America. UConn has won three NCAA titles, made four Final Fours and have been one of the top programs in the nation for the last quarter century. But nothing lasts forever and once again UConn is at a crossroads. ... Barring an invitation to join the ACC -- which UConn already openly campaigned for but did not get -- or the Big Ten, the school is left to make do where it is. "We have to be ready for our next step," UConn head coach Kevin Ollie said. "We can't sit back and have a pity-party."

Back to the storyline of the thread; I suspect BC didn't want UConn in the ACC and made sure an offer was not forthcoming. It seems UConn's only hope to get to a big 5 conference is with the B1G. If this is true, the UConn AD ought to play nice with Brandon from scUM. scUM wants to move their game from UConn to an eastern neutral site in order to accomodate scUM alumni on the east coast. So far, the UConn AD has told Brandon to stick it. I hate to admit it, but scUM is a very influential member of the B1G. Might not be too smart to turn down Brandon's offer.

It meant a little more back then. National champs came out of that bowl.

B1G won't take them. Their not AAU members. An academic requirement for the B1G

Damn right.

Actually, I miss the geographic rivalries as much as anything.

Scattering them out all over hell and half of Georgia just don't make sense to me.

Guess I'm too old fashioned.

They aren't the only ones. Got told a lot worse during my school administrator days. In fact, I got cussed in three languages...English, Spanish and Sign.

I stand corrected. Thank you. No B1G offer for UConn.
