Bynum: Kobe stunted my growth

04:17 PM ET 12.17 | Injured Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum witnessed his team playing his former squad, the Los Angeles Lakers, on Sunday, and that was enough to convince him to speak out about his relationship with Kobe Bryant. "I thought it really helped me a lot obviously at first, because he draws so much attention it's hard for guys to double team and key on you, so it helped me tremendously," Bynum said. "Later, I felt I was able to get the ball more and do more things with the ball, so I could definitely see how it could stunt growth." Bynum also said that he thought the Lakers "traded No. 1 for No. 2" when they dealt him in a deal involving fellow center Dwight Howard.

Funny, everybody wants to play with Lebron, or Wade, or Durant. Nobody wants to play with Kobe. Nash demanded that Gasol be in LA to come to LA; he didn't demand that Kobe stay.

No, but Nash HAS said that a phone conversation is what sold him on joining the Lakers. No, he didn't demand that the Lakers not trade Kobe, but that's because he didn't have to. There's not a chance that the Lakers trade him and Nash knows it.

He's going to catch Jordan's point total with relative ease, unless he suffers a horrific injury.

The facts remain--no one claims to want to play with Kobe. I mean, Howard didn't want to get traded to LA. Wonder why? None of the top free agents list the Lakers as their desired destination.
Sure, Nash didn't have to say "Don't trade Kobe" because he know Kobe wasn't going to be traded. This also means Nash probably knew he couldn't say "Only if you trade Kobe", even if he wanted to say it.

Again, that's not true. Deron Williams, the top free agent over the summer, stated that he would have loved to play with Kobe and the Lakers, but he understood that the Lakers' cap situation didn't make that possible. There have a been a lot of players over the years that have gone to play in LA in the hopes of riding Kobe to a title. And, during the olympics in 08, pretty much every player on the team came out and praised Kobe as the leader and all of them have stated that, after watching how hard he practiced and worked, it showed them the dedication it would take to win.

Guess we need to get two things on the table.
1)When you say lots of players want to ride Kobe to a title, I can accept that. I wasn't talking about freeloaders. I was talking about people who are stars themselves. Of course, second- and third-tier players want to play with Kobe--with him on their team, they never have to worry about getting the ball and having their second- and third-tierness revealed. I mean, not unless the ball just happens to bounce over to them, or they grab a rebound. So, you "win" this point--lots of average and below-average players want to play with Kobe. (You would be correct if you said the same thing about EVERY star--lots of average and below-average players want to join their team. H**l, even I would join the Lakers for the vets minimum! This, of course, means nothing in favor of Kobe).
2)So, he led during the Olympics. Sounds like all the other Olympians were shocked, SHOCKED, I say. What does that tell you? It should tell you two things:
2.1)Kobe was on his best behavior.
2.2)Kobe already had a bad rep.
Despite his "leadership" at the Olympics, I doubt there'll be any stars knocking themselves out to get to LA before Kobe retires. In fact, Dwight Howard is probably already looking to leave.
Why? Because despite a couple of weeks in London, Kobe remains committed to the one lesson he seems to have learned--although there is no I in team, there is an M and an E.
